Mathematics at all levels is about the joy in the discovery; it’s about finding things out. Create your own Julia patterns. Here is the code for this quadratic (x+iy)^2 + (a+ib) with         a = -0.82 and b = 0.2

Find your favourite by trying different values of a and b, adjust the scale and colour.

Then adjust the code line 90 and 100 to create different Julia sets, see examples of versions you can try, such as this cubic, at  (x+iy)^3 +(a+ib)

Probability coding – Kruskal Count. Deal out all 52 cards from a pack, face up, in a line. Start at the first card and move along using the value of the card. Note in my version of this game any court card and ten you land on counts as one. Once you reach your final card make a note of this, then repeat for the next few starting cards. You have a high chance of landing on the same card. Amazing!
